The weather forecast for Sunday was very iffy - but we're a hearty bunch, we always figure that if it starts raining, we go home. Besides, we've been sitting around for the last 3 days for Rosh Hashana, dipping our apples in honey (hopefully the fruit kind, but there are those who have dipped other kinds of apples), so we needed to get out there and run around a bit (adults and kids alike!) Naturally, it ended up being a beautiful Sunday morning - a perfect day to play soccer. And play soccer we did! The kindergartners and first graders first teamed up for some creative coaching and fun mini-games with Coach Phil, after which they split up and each grade played separately. The 2nd and 3rd graders scrimmaged with their coaches initially, and then split up into four teams playing two separate games (a great suggestion from Coach Phil). This enabled each player to get more touches and be more involved in the game. The 4th and 5th graders immediately started playing a game, leveraging their brand new soccer goals. Photographs today were taken by Alyssa Lipman and Sarah Shamash. Enjoy! A few notes:
